- 1 Onion (chopped)

- 2 (400 g) Canned Tomatoes (finely chopped)
- 1 Tsp Sugar
- 1 cup Warm Water
- 250 g Mozzarella Cheese (grated)
- 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese or Eden Cheese
- 500 g Ricotta Cheese
Instructions to make to make Traditional Lasagna
- Meat Sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan or deep frying pan. Fry onion and garlic together until soft. Add the mince and cooked until brown. Add tomato paste and tomatoes, sugar, salt & pepper. Mix well and slowly add and mix in the water. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes.
- Assembly the Lasagna: Preheat the oven to 200*c. Pour 3/4 cups of the hot meat sauce into a base lightly greased with olive oil in a large baking dish. Place a layer of lasagna sheets on the base of the dish and cover with another 3/4 of meat sauce over the sheets. Spread 1/4 of ricotta cheese and sprinkle some parmesan (or eden) cheese. Repeat this step until all the meat sauce is used. Finish with mozzarella cheese and parmesan (or eden) layer.
- Cover with foil and cook for 30-35 minutes. Then reduce the heat at 150*c, carefully remove the foil and cook for a further 10 minutes or until it is cooked through (use a fork to prick down to see the lasagna sheet is soft). Let it stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.
- Lasagna taste great with sour cream. Put some on top of your piece, delicious! ^_^
- For a perfect lasagna, make sure the lasagna sheets are completely covered with the meat sauce, this make the lasagna moist.
- Ricotta cheese is totally optional. If you don't like ricotta, you can leave it out
